The Dutchess County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DCSPCA) is excited to announce our first annual “Pledge for Pets” Radiothon on September 23rd and 24th, 2017. We are pleased to be partnering with the Poughkeepsie Galleria, and its retail establishments. Our media partner,  iHeart Media, will be broadcasting live from Center Court with WRNQ (92.1 FM, “Q92”) including on-air personalities Joe Daily and Michele Taylor on Saturday from 10 am-4 pm, and WRWD (107.3) on Sunday from 11 am-4pm. Their five Hudson Valley stations will be promoting the event in advance.

The DCSPCA will also promote the event on all digital media throughout the year. We are grateful for our host and partners, and all the businesses and individuals who are committed to helping us fulfill our mission to care for neglected animals.

As you may know your SPCA is a “no-kill” shelter and is adapting to the changes and challenges we face today in order to better serve our community. In order to do so we intend to upgrade and possibly reconfigure our facilities while elevating the quality of our medical and administrative services. You can help us achieve our goals. Without you, our animal-loving supporters, we could not possibly fulfill our mission. We do not receive funding for our operations from federal, state or local governments or national groups – We rely on generous neighbors like you!

The DCSPCA is the third oldest animal shelter in the country, having been established in 1871. As a partner with the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International, in just the recent past, we have taken in death row animals from Korea the flood-ravaged South, and rescued animals from hoarding situations right here in our community. We are proud to say that in the last two years we have adopted out over 2200 animals to their forever homes. Please help us help our animals in need.
