DCSPCA Adoption & Education Center Re-Opens This Friday, June 26th!

We are happy to announce that the Dutchess County SPCA Adoption Center is re-opening June 26, 2020! Please read the following carefully, because our hours and procedures have changed:

Fridays: 12 pm to 6pm
Saturdays and Sundays: 12 pm to 4pm
Monday through Thursday: BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

We appreciate your patience as we implement these

  • All visitors to the Adoption Center must wear a mask and observe social distancing protocols. If you are not wearing a mask, you will not be allowed to enter our facility.
  • ONLY 3 separate parties will be allowed to enter or be present in the Adoption Center at any given time.
  • ONLY 2 people per party will be allowed to enter the Adoption Center. If more family members are present, they will have to wait in their car until one of the other members exits the Adoption Center.
  • Everyone entering the building must sign in on our tablet, which will include questions about your exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
  • Visitors will be accompanied by an adoption counselor during their visit.

Please expect to wait to enter the building.

The majority of our pets are in foster homes and not at the shelter. The best way to meet a pet is to go to our website www.dcspca.org/adopt

1. If you see a pet you would like to meet, complete the application form for that pet.

2. Call our adoption center: 845-452-7722, x-420 and make an appointment to meet that pet.

3. Arrangements will be made for you to either first speak with the foster or meet the pet in person.

We appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we evolve to better serve the pets and people of Dutchess County.
