The Dutchess County SPCA is the third oldest animal welfare agency in the United States, formed in 1871 by a group of concerned individuals. We have served over 6 generations of Hudson Valley residents, and have saved the lives of tens of thousands of animals throughout our notable history and continue to expand our outreach as animals in need know no real boundaries.
We are not a governmental agency. We DO NOT receive funding for our operations from local, state or federal governments or national groups such as the ASPCA. We rely on generous community members like you. Your gift today will go to support the not only the homeless animals in our care and help us save lives and end needless suffering. The DCSPCA has been a No-Kill shelter since 1992.
We are a 501(c) (3) non profit organization and have been since 1963. Donations may be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Please check with your tax preparer for details.
A copy of our latest annual report may be obtained here or from the Office of the Attorney General, Charities Bureau, 120 Broadway, New York, NY 10271.
There are many ways to donate: make a one-time donation of funds; make an annual commitment and become a member; join our Friends of the Animals program as a monthly donor; become a Guardian Angel with your one-time or on-going payment and sponsor a kennel or cat condo; become a member of the DCSPCA Legacy Society or remember the Dutchess County SPCA in your will.
The DCSPCA is an approved agency for United Way donations. You may direct your donations to us through this program. Work for the Federal or State Government? We’re in those programs too! We are listed for both SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) and CFC (Combined Federal Program).
