The Dutchess County SPCA provides many services for animals throughout the county, including a low-cost vaccine clinic and a spay / neuter clinic.
If your pet is ill or requires emergency care, please contact your regular veterinarian.
Our veterinarians are here only on days with scheduled appointments. We are not an emergency clinic and are unable to accommodate walk-ins.
The Vaccine Clinic is on hiatus until January 2021.
DCSPCA provides the following services:
Exam: Provides brief physical exam that checks the eyes, ears, body condition, teeth, heart and lungs to check the general health of your pet. This is not a complete physical exam.
Rabies vaccine: Vaccinates against rabies. It is a NYS law required vaccine. Ages 12 weeks and older.
*MUST BRING PRIOR PROOF OF VACCINATION IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR A 3 YEAR VACCINE
Canine Distemper vaccine (1-DAPPV): Vaccinates against canine distemper, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. Dogs and puppies only, ages 8 weeks and older.
Feline Distemper vaccine (1-HCP): Vaccinates against feline rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia. Cats and kittens only, ages 8 weeks and older.
Canine Bordetella vaccine: Vaccinates against kennel cough. Dogs and puppies only, ages 8 weeks and older.
Canine 4DX: Blood test that screens your dog for Lyme, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia and Heartworm. Results within 10 minutes.
Feline Triple Snap: Blood test that screens your cat for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, Leukemia, and Heartworm. Results within 10 minutes.
Microchip: A microchip goes underneath your pet’s skin and provides a permanent ID for your pet in the instance your pet gets lost or stolen.
After your appointment, our veterinarian may recommend preventatives to keep your fur baby happy and healthy.
Milbeguard: Heartworm preventative

Flea/Tick Prevention: Vectra available for dogs, Revolution Plus available for cats.
Dewormer: Oral dewormer that is effective against intestinal roundworms and hookworms.

These services are available to anyone – your pet does not have to be adopted from the DCSPCA to use our clinic services.
