Alright guys we have a little bit of a different kind of follow up this time. Back in 2013 a great family came in looking for a senior dog, they ended up adopting a 7 year old dog that we had named Champ. Shortly after getting him home he quickly got the name Bruno. This is what the family had to say “We only had him for 4 years but I know in that time we gave him 14 years of love and so much life. He had steaks on the grill, homemade dog food up until his last meal and he had a custom staircase so he could sleep in bed with us. We cry for him everyday. So thank you because you saved our Bruno who honestly in the end saved me. You’re welcome to share his story and pics on the page in the hopes it will encourage people to adopt older adult and senior dogs” Although sweet Bruno is no longer here, he left a big impact on his family! ... Thank you for adopting a senior, they have such a unique special charm. Condolences on your loss.
great story. RIP Bruno you were a lucky dog to find a loving family and they were lucky to have you. Each day with your dog is precious
Beautiful photo’s. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thank you all so much and especially to the spca for saving him. He left such a legacy and left special paw prints on our hearts. This dog got me through a very high risk pregnancy and then got to meet his miracle brother as you can see. If love could have saved him he would have lived forever 💙
Rest In Peace Bruno....you wonderful wonderful dog.
So sorry for your loss. So happy he had a wonderful life with you.
Same with my shepherd who came to me at 11 years of age. Such a great dog!
I'm so sorry for their loss, but happy for the joy they gave to one another. Bruno was amazing. I too adopted older from DCSPCA. Love my rescues ❤️ Blessings
Bruno was an amazing dog. From the first time I met him he had a place in my heart. He would give me such a huge welcome. As soon as I would see him I would sit on the floor and he would jump onto my lap to get love. I was very fortunate to be able to spend a couple hours with him before he went over the rainbow bridge. Thank you Bruno for being apart of my life and forever having a place in my heart.
So sorry for the family's loss but grateful that he had so much love packed into those four years. God bless.
This is so sweet, thank you for sharing ❤ they don't live long enough.
My name is Chuck. I'm writing to let everyone know I’m still available for adoption. I’m currently living with a foster family. I wasn’t adjusting well at the shelter; so I convinced one of the volunteers to foster me. He also told me I’d have to write a good letter to let everyone know how much fun I’m having and to let everyone know what a great addition I’d be to a family.
Here in the house, I have lots of places to watch the outdoor wild life. I really enjoy views from the living room windows where they placed a sofa table I can sit or lie on to watch the birds and squirrels that come to eat from the feeders. I occasionally lounge on the coffee table near the couch. One of the rooms has a cat tree near a window I use to supervise other areas of the outdoors.
I love playing with a bunch of interesting toys here. My favorites are the rolled up aluminum foil balls. I chase those all around the house. I have learned to bat the smaller-sized ones under the baseboard heat registers. It's fun to watch my foster parents get down on their hands and knees and dig them out for me.
Recently my foster dad came home with a really strange flash light that shines a little red dot all over the place. It’s really fun chasing that dot around, but I haven't been able to catch it yet!
** I am currently in foster care, if you were interesting in seeing me please talk to an adoption counselor! **
